For Oil Furnace Cleaning PA Is Worth Visiting

By Kimberly Wallace

A furnace is a very important piece of equipment in any home. As such, it is important to ensure that it is working well at all times. Part of achieving this goal involves regularly cleaning and maintaining various parts of the equipment in good condition. When the equipment is not cleaned well, it starts to use more gas, oil, or electricity, leading to higher maintenance costs. It also becomes increasingly inefficient. When in need of oil furnace cleaning PA should be visited.

Various parts of oil furnaces need to be cleaned in order for them to work well. Even though it is important to keep every component clean, there are three main parts that if not cleaned, the functioning of the equipment is impaired. These three parts are the filter system, heat exchanger, and the blower. If dirt is left to accumulate on these parts for too long, efficiency is highly affected.

Durability of the equipment is also increased when these components are kept clean. One has to have some knowledge before they start to clean the equipment. This is to ensure that the components are not damaged during the process of cleaning them. One should start by identifying the access panel of the equipment before they start to clean the named components. The panel is usually located on the outside of the equipment.

The access panel is fixed between the blower system and the return-air duct in many models. The duct is situated above the panel while the blower system is on the lower side. On the front side of the furnace, there is the filter. One has to remove the panel first before accessing the filter. The filter may also have its own door. However, one should always ensure the power is off before doing any of these activities.

The filter should be taken out of its compartment so that it can be cleaned. The filter should not have any problem coming out and if it sticks, one should look closer to see what it holding it. Once the filter has been taken out, it should be inspected for damages and presence of dirt. Dirt should be cleaned by first removing any loose particles of debris on its surface.

Upon removing all loose particles, one should use mild soap and tap water to clean the remaining dirt. Once all the dirt has been cleaned off, the filter is rinsed using clean water and left to dry. If one notices visible damages on the filter, they should replace it if the model is a disposable one.

The next step is to clean the blower assembly, which will require one to remove the entire front panel. There may be screws that hold the panel in place that need to be unscrewed. In case the panel is held in place by hinges instead of screws, they should be opened. One should slide the fan out of its compartment to be cleaned.

The fan is help on tracks and may be connected by a wire to the rest of the equipment. The fan and the blower assembly should also be cleaned using water and mild soap. Fan blades and spaces between them can be cleaned better using a toothbrush. The same process should be used to clean the heat exchanger.
